About Depicting Military Iconography
Mary is the sole Canadian artist who specializes in depiction of Canadian Forces military iconography. Mary works with the client to customize, tailor, illustrate, and immortalize their service career. Medals, trade badges, awards, decorations and personalized dog tags can often be seen throughout her pieces. “I’m a retired Canadian Armed Forces member, now artist. I make personalized 11″ x 17″ pieces using multimedia, and they generally represent military iconography. I charge $75 + shipping for prints, and $400+ shipping for complete custom pieces.”
A print is a replica of an original piece.
Prints cost $75 + postage, which includes the cost of personalizing the piece. Most prints have one or more of the following items personalized in the piece… dog tags, name tags, trade badges or the members element. Unlike a custom piece, these only take a day or two to make.
Complete Custom Pieces
Mary creates custom artwork pieces by brainstorming with the client about what they wish to portray. She takes into account their career history, any highlights, awards and sentimental moments that the client wishes to be reflected.
From there, she begins to sketch out a very detailed pencil drawing. Once complete, its presented to the client for review. At this point, changes can be made to the template if desired. Once the sketch is approved, no other changes can be made. The final piece takes Mary about three weeks to complete.
All custom pieces are done on 11″ x 17″ 100 lbs or greater card stock. They cost $400 + postage.
